Personal Information

Dr. Joseph Obi was born and raised locally in Sarasota, FL. He received his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. He later went on to complete his internal medicine training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX and gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Miami. He has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals and has presented at various national conferences throughout his training. He is an active member of multiple professional organizations and has engaged in community outreach.

Dr. Obi provides comprehensive care for gastrointestinal and liver diseases with a special interest in colorectal cancer screening. He uses a collaborative approach to patient care to create a strong lasting doctor-patient relationship. He utilizes the most current clinical guidelines and research with emphasis on his patient’s well-being. He currently provides care to patients in Bradenton and the surrounding areas.
